Exactly one year ago, as a south Delhi printing press manufactured our magazine’s pilot edition, we decided to reward our hard work and celebrate Bhavini jija’s birthday through an icy expedition to Russia. Retrospecting that time when Rajputana Collective was at best a novel and undiscovered concept, this trip predated its formal voyage into the choppy waters of the Indian media industry. Sitting in a soviet cafe of St. Petersburg’s Nevsky Avenue on a cold February morning, the two of us had envisioned a literal narration of our Russian adventures in a forthcoming edition of Rajputana Collective, if at all it materialised. And on its 1st anniversary, drenched in gratitude and pride, here we are.
